Field Service Technician

Job Description Overview

Field Service Technicians are responsible for the service of KMC Global customers and product lines. They perform preventive maintenance, site surveys, installations, modifications, equipment start-ups, provide training and re-training in the use of KMC Global equipment. This position reports to the Technical Development Coordinator and Customer Service Manager as necessary.

  • Ability to travel – 80 to 85% (US and International travel)
  • Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

  • Working knowledge of PLC controls and logic
  • Hydraulic knowledge/troubleshooting beneficial
  • High School education, technical training and 2 to 4 years of related technical service work
  • Ability to remain calm in difficult situation
  • Ability to adhere to Standard Operating Procedure
  • Able to complete service reports at the completion of service, to provide customer resolution.

Responsibilities

The following activities are required in this position:

  • Promoting excellence throughout the department
  • Service PRAB & Hapman products at customer locations
  • Provide training and re-training in the use of PRAB & Hapman equipment at customer locations
  • Provide phone service and troubleshooting support from home office
  • Provide sales leads to Sales Department
  • Determine parts required for in field repairs
  • Co-ordination of service trips including travel plans
  • Accurately communicate and discuss problems with customers
  • Document all aspects of Service work performed

Production Supervisor

Job Description Overview

The Production Supervisor position is responsible for supervision and training of fabrication personnel to include the manufacture and quality control of all equipment, parts orders, work orders and equipment process instruction implementation. This position reports to the Plant Manager.

Qualifications

  • Good general math and trigonometry
  • Ability to interpret manufacturing routing forms
  • Good hands-on mechanical ability
  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working with metal fabrication
  • Hands on working knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent
  • Three years minimum supervisory experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and organized manufacturing facility
  • Supervise activities of manufacturing to obtain optimum productivity and accuracy
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Continuous improvement is expected in all critical activities
  • Job, work order and parts order scheduling
  • Assist in the development and implementation of fixtures and fixture kits for existing and new products
  • Maintain a safe workplace according to legal standards and foster a culture of attention to health and safety
  • Interface with other manufacturing departments, engineering, purchasing, processing, shipping and sales
  • Attend all scheduled meetings as required
  • An active member of the manufacturing problem-solving team

Quality Assurance Coordinator

Job Description Overview

The Quality Assurance Coordinator position is responsible for the development, implementation, file structure and maintenance of process instructions and quality specifications for all products from pre-fab through shipment. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of steel fabrication and manufacturing processes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Working knowledge of mechanical engineering drawings to include AutoCAD and 3D software
  • Solid understanding of metal manufacturing principles and procedures including laser cutting, press brake forming, fabrication, assembly and machining operations
  • Solid understanding of weld and finish quality specifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering (or similar discipline) and two-year minimum experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Work with PRAB and Hapman Engineering to develop and document run-off specifications for standard equipment and systems
  • Work with PRAB and Hapman Engineering to develop and document run-off specifications for engineer to order equipment and systems
  • Work with engineering and manufacturing on the development of standard process and quality control documentation from pre-fab through shipment
  • Train manufacturing supervision on the implementation and sustainability of the process and quality control program
  • Develop and maintain an intuitive digital file system for all quality and process related documentation
